David Walker & Mike Russell sign 'Darius Logan,' 'Buried Unicorns' & 'Sabertooth Vampire' books at Bridge City Comics April 13

On Wednesday, April 13 from 6 to 8 p.m., DAVID WALKER and MIKE RUSSELL join forces for a blowout book-release party at Bridge City Comics!
DAVID WALKER (http://BadAzzMofo.com/) will sign copies of his debut young-adult novel "Darius Logan: Super Justice Force". Darius Logan is an orphaned teen in serious trouble. Facing time in prison, he instead enters Second Chance -- a rehabilitation program for ex-criminals operated by the Super Justice Force, the world's greatest superhero team. Working side-by-side with reformed super-criminals -- and the heroes he idolized as a child -- Darius creates a new life for himself. But when the forces of evil threaten to destroy everything around him, can a kid with no superpowers do anything to save the day? Meanwhile, MIKE RUSSELL (http://www.CulturePulp.com) will roll out two new books: "Cort and Fatboy and the Secret of the Buried Unicorns" and his first "Sabertooth Vampire" minicomic.
"Cort and Fatboy and the Secret of the Buried Unicorns" is a picture book starring real-life Portland podcast superstars Cort and Fatboy (http://www.cortandfatboy.com) in a thrilling tale of "Danger & Adventure in the Media Wasteland!" The boys are running out of money -- but then they remember that Portland, Oregon is built on a unicorn burial ground. With the unpaid help of their regular guests -- including Walker and Russell -- can the boys exploit this fact and make the rent?
"Beware the Sabre-toothed Vampire" collects Season One of Russell's webcomic (http://www.sabertoothvampire.com) about a tiny vampire hampered by his giant fangs. Marvel and mourn as he tries and fails to pull them out of the ground long enough to actually bite someone. Lauren Davis of io9.com called the comic "an amazing bit of silliness.... Yes, it's a one-note joke, but damn if Russell doesn't milk it for all it's worth. He even manages to make a 'Twilight' joke without actually making fun of 'Twilight.'"
Color prints of the poster for the signing -- drawn by Mike Russell and colored by Bill Mudron -- will be on sale at the event for a mere five bucks.
